Leadership Team

Biligt Altankhuyag (Principal Investigator, Founder)

Mr Biligt Altankhuyag is a lecturer in the Department of Architecture at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology. He holds both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Urban Design from Politechnika Krakowska im. Tadeusza Kościuszki (Cracow University of Technology), Poland. His research explores inclusivity and adaptability in urban design, conceptualising public space as critical infrastructure for social dynamics and urban governance. He seeks to define a paradigm of responsive, kinetic urbanism, in which the built environment actively adapts to community needs and environmental conditions.

Naranchimeg Usukhbayar (PhD. Co-Investigator)

Dr Usukhbayar Naranchimeg is the Head of the Department of Architecture at the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Mongolian University of Science and Technology. She holds a PhD and a Master’s degree from Iwate University, Japan, and a Bachelor’s degree from the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, with academic training in Architecture and Design. Her research focuses on modular architecture, spatial systems, and the architectural transformation of the Mongolian Ger, emphasising sustainability, adaptability, and contemporary design methodologies. Her work explores the integration of traditional nomadic dwelling principles into modern architectural practice.

Arvinzaya Byambatsogt (Co-Investigator)

Ms Byambatsogt Arvinzaya is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Architecture at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST). She holds a dual Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from MUST and Kyushu University, Japan, and a Master of Design from the Department of Kansei Science at Kyushu University. From her fourth year of undergraduate study through to the completion of her master’s degree, she was affiliated with the Landscape Design Laboratory at Kyushu University under the supervision of Associate Professor Akihiko Higuchi.

Her academic and professional interests lie at the intersection of landscape design, public space, and placemaking, with a particular focus on human behaviour within the built environment. Her work explores how spatial design influences perception, use, and social interaction, emphasising inclusivity and participatory approaches in architectural and landscape practices. She is particularly interested in investigating the relationship between human behaviour and built space, aiming to develop design strategies that foster inclusive, human-centred environments.
